This week’s question concerns airline travel. As if the airlines haven’t made flying tough enough, two airlines – Spring Airlines in China and Ryanair in Ireland – are now contemplating offering standing-room-only flights for some of their shorter routes. Although details are still sketchy at this point, the airlines are proposing replacing seats with seatbelt-equipped barstool-type seats, increasing capacity by as much as 40 percent and cutting costs by about 20 percent. Presumably those savings would be passed on to the customers.
So we’re wondering, would you take a standing-room-only flight?
Yes or no?
